India Vs West Indies 34th Match BluePrint ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Match Preview

The West Indies came into this tournament with a lot of expectations. There were many people that were calling the West Indies dark horses but things have not panned out that well.

A brilliant win against Pakistan is all that the West Indies have to show right now. One win from six matches is a fair reflection of the kind of cricket they have played.

Now, the West Indies are going to be facing up against India at Manchester, another tough task.

India is still unbeaten in the ICC World Cup 2019 although they came very close to losing to Afghanistan.

That match would have been a wake-up call for the Indian team who are serious title contenders. The absence of Shikhar Dhawan from the playing eleven has left a big gap and there are some other weaknesses that can be exploited as well.
India bowled outstandingly well in last game led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. They will have to continue the same while the spinners will aim to play to their potential. Virat Kohli & Co are unlikely to change their winning combinations and play the same XI against West Indies at Manchester.

While the result of this match may not be of great consequence, both teams would be keen to win this contest.

India Team News:

Lokesh Rahul taking some time to settle in the crease. But he is consistent and likes to play a long inning. Rohit Sharma scored 320 runs in four matches with 80 average. He will be the biggest threat for West Indies bowlers.

India may Rotate Dinesh Karthik or Ravindra Jadeja in place of Vijay Shankar. To strengthen the batting unit.

Finally, we have seen some thunder shots from the Universal Boss. Chris Gayle may look to continue the same in today match also. But Indian bowlers will try to dismiss him in the first five overs.

Shai Hope dismissed for one run in the last match. But he is the most trustable pick from West Indies team.

Pitch Report:
It will be a dry and mostly sunny day with warmth and humidity. Dryness might bring the spinners into play as the day progresses. Teams batting first have won each of the three matches played at Old Trafford in this tournament so far. The pitch in Manchester is good for batting. It helped the spinners a little in the previous matches and we are sure that is going to be the case this time around also. The big outfields are helpful for the spinners as well.
